How To Measure Your Window Glass For PDLC Films?
MEASURING GUIDE
Precise size is very important for the installation of self-adhesive films, because we need to cut the smart film according to the measurements. If the size is too large, it will not be installed. On the contrary, if the size is too small, there will be a large gap at the edge. The measurement work is a simple task, but we need to be more careful to get the exact size to avoid loss.
Preliminary preparations and precautions:
- Please use suitable measuring tools, such as tape measure and rangefinder.
- Please measure every windows, even if they look almost the same, so that we can avoid errors.
- Measure only the inside dimensions of a window or glass. Do not include the frame, sealant.
Step 1: Check if the windows or glass is square? by below methods.
1.1) Use a ruler or a right angle tool to measure whether each corner angle is 90 degrees.
1.2) Measure whether the diagonals are the same length.

Note: If the window is not square after measurement, or the deviation is large, please contact borita and we will give you professional guidance.
If the window and glass are square after measurement,we go to next step.
Step 2:
Take the Measurement of horizontal dimensions by the window glass at the top, center,and bottom.please refer image below.get the average size.Generally,the size is almost the same.You don’t need take any deductions from your measurements. We will take the necessary deductions (generally 2mm),then confirm finally films width.

Step 3:
Take the Measurement of vertical dimensions by the window glass at the left, center,and right.please refer image below.get the average size.Generally,the size is almost the same.You don’t need take any deductions from your measurements. We will take the necessary deductions (generally 2mm),then confirm finally films height.
